Who are you?
You are not your failures. You are not your anxiety. You are not your addiction, your mistakes, or your past. You are not “too emotional,” “too much,” or “too hard to love.” You are not unwanted, unseen, or unworthy.
The world might call you by your failures, but Jesus calls you by your name. And when He renames you, those old labels the world tried to give you, they don’t stick anymore.
Today in church, we talked about how God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, and Sarai’s to Sarah, but God wasn’t just giving them a new title. He was giving them a new identity. A new purpose. A new promise.
And it hit me hard, because I’ve been guilty of clinging to names He never gave me, I don’t always feel “good enough.” Most days, I feel like I’m stumbling through motherhood and marriage, trying to be a light for Jesus but falling short in a thousand little ways. And in those moments, I let my shame whisper louder than Gods grace. But our feelings don’t define our identity, Jesus does.
God’s grace covers your past, holds your present, and secures your future. There’s no room for shame.
So today I want to encourage you to walk in who God identifies you as, even if you don’t feel it yet. He already sees it. He’s started a work in you and he’ll finish it.
When the world calls you by your past mistakes or your failures remember that Jesus says, you are Chosen. Redeemed. Forgiven. Loved. Free. Set apart. His masterpiece. A child of God. More than a conqueror.
That’s your name now. Walk in it. 👣💜✝️
