Parenting is Holy Ground
I can’t count the number of times I’ve been frustrated with my kids for not listening… only for God to tap me on the shoulder and go, “Sound familiar?” okay, Lord, you didn’t have to call me out like that in front of the kids. 😂 It’s almost funny, if it wasn’t so true.
Sometimes it happens when I’m patient, kneeling down at their level, explaining why things have to be a certain way. Other times it’s when I’m frustrated, repeating myself for the hundredth time. But then out of nowhere it’s like God holds up a mirror and says “Yep, Emily… that’s you too.”
It’s one of the most humbling parts of parenting, realizing how often God uses it to teach me too. Every correction, every lesson, every moment of discipline, it’s like He gently says “Yes, daughter this is also a lesson for you.”
It’s beautiful. And honestly, it leaves me in awe of how much our Heavenly Father loves us. Parenting has become one of the clearest ways God speaks to my heart showing me my own stubbornness, my own need for grace, and His incredible patience with me. The same way I long for my children to listen, obey, and trust that I know what’s best for them, God longs for me to listen, obey, and trust that HE knows best.
If you’ve ever felt discouraged as a parent, remember, God isn’t wasting those moments. He’s shaping your kids through you, and shaping you through them. Parenting is hard, but it’s also holy ground. You got this! 💜🤟✝️
