Light Of The World
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” -Hosea 4:6
I’ve had this verse on my heart all week. So i decided to read Hosea 4 and i couldnt ignore that it sounds so much like our world today. There’s truth missing, mercy missing, obedience missing. Heres a hard truth though.
God doesn’t start by blaming the sinners in the streets. He starts with the priests, the leaders. The ones who knew better but stopped teaching and living in truth.
We’ve got churches full of activity but empty of repentance. We say we follow Jesus, but most days we don’t act like Him. We defend sin, chase comfort, and preach blessing more than holiness.
Our hearts should be sorrowful. We’re supposed to look at the lost and feel the ache Jesus felt. Not “look what they’re doing to our country,” BUT instead “look what the enemy is doing to them.”
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” -Ephesians 6:12 NLT
We don’t win people to Christ by shouting about their sin, we win them by showing them the love that set us free.
We can’t call people out of sin with hatred in our eyes. It has to come from the heart of the Father. Not disgust, anger or pride. But grief and love.
If the motive isn’t love, it’s not ministry, it’s just noise. Paul tells us that in Corinthians 13. Jesus didn’t hurl stones at sinners, he knelt beside them. He didn’t come to condemn the world. He came to heal it.
And love doesn’t mean excusing sin, Jesus never did. It means leading people to the One who can free them from it.
When we come to Jesus, He meets us right where we are… but He never leaves us there. Repentance doesn’t mean perfection, it means direction. It’s about progress. It’s recognizing sin for what it is, feeling sorrow instead of shame, turning back toward God, and letting the Holy Spirit reshape our desires day by day. Grace forgives us, but truth transforms us.
The goal of correction was never to shame someone into obedience, it was to love them into repentance.
Romans 2:4 - “It’s God’s kindness that leads us to repentance.”
It’s not the world’s job to look like Jesus, it’s ours. It starts in the pulpits, the pews, and every home that claims His name.
God’s not asking for prettier services. He’s asking for pure hearts. For people who love truth more than being liked. For followers who would rather offend the world than offend Him, but stand firm with humble obedience and love, not pride.
It’s time we stop just wearing the title “Christian” and start walking the way of Christ. Humble, holy, bold, and real. Thats how we change lives. Thats how we change the world. 🌎💜✝️
