Guilty!
Take a minute, close your eyes and picture this. Two people are in a courtroom, standing before a Judge. Justice demands a verdict. 🎥🎬 The first man steps forward. The verdict is read: “Guilty.” The Judge says, “You owe a fine you could never afford to pay.” Then the Judge does something unimaginable. In mercy, He steps down and says, “I love you. I will pay your fine Myself.” But the man shakes his head. “I don’t need You. I’ll take my chances.” And he walks away, carrying the crushing weight of a fine he will never escape, never pay, never be free from.
The second man stands before Him, his record no cleaner. The verdict is the same: “Guilty.” The Judge says, “You owe a fine you could never afford to pay.” Then He steps down, looks him in the eye, and says, “But I love you. I will pay your fine Myself.” This man says, “Yes.” And the Judge, Jesus Himself, wraps His arms around him and takes the punishment upon Himself.
This happened at the cross, Jesus paid our penalty in full. He bore what we never could. Justice was satisfied. The debt erased. Mercy and love overflowed.
That is the gospel. The offer is made to all. Some reject it and remain under judgment. Others accept it and walk free into eternal life.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans 3:23-24)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Justice satisfied. Mercy extended. Love offered to all. Which man are you? 💜🤟✝️
